The Silver Scroll Award is New Zealand's most prestigious peer voted songwriting award, recognising achievement in the craft of songwriting. The winner of the award receives a payment of NZ$5000 and takes the freshly engraved APRA Silver Scroll Award trophy into their care for 11 months.
The SOUNZ Contemporary Award | Te Tohu Auaha is Aotearoa's premier composition award attracting a prize of NZ$3000 and a trophy designed and made by Auckland sculptor Sarah Smuts Kennedy.
First awarded in 2003, the APRA Maioha Award was created to celebrate excellence in popular Māori composition, to inspire Māori composers to explore and express their culture and to increase awareness of waiata in te reo Māori throughout Aotearoa. The winner receives NZ$5000 and is the guardian of Te Ngore for one year.
The APRA Best Original Music in a Series and APRA Best Original Music in a Film awards celebrate the exceptional, highly regarded screen composers of Aotearoa. The film, or the first episode from the series entered must have received its first public screening, broadcast or release between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022. Winners receive the respective trophy suitably engrave alongside a payment of NZ $1500.
