The Māori Music Industry Coalition and SoundCheck Aotearoa present Project Mauri Ora - a wānanga by Māori, for Māori to explore the prevention of, and response to sexual harm in our music community from within the lens of Te Ao Māori.
The collective goal is to provide a culturally safe space for Māori to come together and wānanga this topic, considering the tapu nature of it, and the intersections of colonization and lived experience/s in the music community as tangata whenua. Developed and facilitated by an all-Māori team, this wānanga is grounded in Te Ao Māori, weaving matauranga Māori and lived experiences into the kōrero and learning.
