It's the respected competition where Aussie and Kiwi songwriters shine year after year, over-indexing in the finalist and winner categories, and in last year's International Song Competition, it was Tones And I who took the grand prize.
ISC has opened up entries for the 2020 competition in recent weeks and you have until September to enter for ISC's Regular Deadline before the entry price goes up, with some special promotions and prizes to win along the way. All up, there is US$150,000 in cash, prizes, recognition and more on offer.
"The good news is that since ISC is not a physical event, we are continuing to operate as usual and accept entries. We are committed to providing the best service and support to our entrants, and we will strive to offer great opportunities to help you in your musical pursuits."
"The focus of ISC is finding great songwriters and songs," the organisers told us in an interview earlier in the year. Categories are expansive from children's music to comedy to folk/singer-songwriter and beyond.
So, if you've been hunkered down writing songs in the last few months, perhaps you have a song that should heard by the judges. Good luck!
