APRA AMCOS sends Joel Little huge congratulations on achieving a global hit record with Irishman Niall Horan's latest album 'The Show'
Little co-wrote or produced 8 of the 10 songs on 'The Show', which is the third solo record from Horan (former member of One Direction). He was also the executive producer, alongside American producer John The Blind (John Ryan), and recorded some of the tracks at his Big Fan studio in Auckland.
The album, which was released last week, has debuted in the #1 spot in 8 countries (UK, Ireland, Holland, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, Poland, Canada,) as well as #1 US – Top Albums and #2 US Billboard Chart. It's also charting across Europe.
Many critics have described the songs as Horan's best work to date, and he is due to perform many of them as part of an upcoming world tour, which will reach Aotearoa in April 2024.
Little and Horan first started collaborating remotely during a covid-19 lockdown, and once lockdowns were over, they were able to work in person.
The songs which Little co-wrote include the first two singles Heaven, and Meltdown, along with If You Leave Me, and You Could Start A Cult, and he produced Never Grow Up, The Show, Science, and Must Be Love.
Two fellow NZ APRA members also worked on the album, with Sam de Jong playing drums, and Mahuia Bridgman-Cooper providing string arrangements.
Head of New Zealand Operations Ant Healey says "This is an extraordinary achievement, and we are hugely proud of Joel and his work. Congratulations."
