Mind Your Music presents The Aotearoa SyncPosium returning for 2024, with the aim to educate and celebrate the exciting world of applying musical artistry to film, television, video games, ads and more.
CONFERENCE:
A two-day conference over Feb 23 and 24 at Q Theatre in Auckland features global industry leaders in music made for the screens, and will include over 15 panels, keynote speakers, breakout rooms, meet-ups and more.
Speakers announced so far include:
- Pasek and Paul (Grammy, Tony & Academy Award Winning Songwriters: LalaLand & The Greatest Showman)
- Darren Higman (EVP Music Warner Bros Studios upcoming projects include The Color Purple Musical and Minecraft)
- Rhian Sheehan (Composer extraordinaire)
- Kevin Call (Sync Agent at Midnight Choir and Head of Mushroom Library in Australia)
- Stacey Sher (Producer: Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, Matilda and many more)
- Brandon Young (Senior Director, Music Affairs at Activision)
WORKSHOP:
Alongside the conference, Aotearoa SyncPosium will host a one-day workshop which provides 40 local participants with the chance to: work on their songwriting and composing for screen with the assistance of the international guests; enhance their composer reels; practice writing to briefs; network with key players, and more.
