Announcing Jed Parsons and Stacey Morrison as your hosts for the 2025 APRA Silver Scroll Awards

We’re one week away from the 2025 APRA Silver Scroll Awards | Kaitito Kaiaka and we’re excited to reveal your ceremony hosts will be Ōtautahi luminaries Jed Parsons and Stacey Morrison.
Though she is now based in Tāmaki, Ōtautahi is home for Stacey Morrison (Te Arawa, Ngāi Tahu). Being from Ngāti Irakehu at Wairewa (Little River) and Akaroa, as well as from the mighty east of Christchurch, Stacey is an Aranui High School alumni who, while she may claim to have been the weakest link in her school band, did ‘okay’ in Drama Club. From then, doors continued to open - and Stacey has been broadcasting and doing creative mahi ever since.
From her television debut, on children’s show What Now?, Stacey has amassed an extensive and varied career in screen and radio. A keen exponent of te reo Māori, she has written books on learning the language and celebrating the culture - some of them alongside her husband, Scotty Morrison, such as Kia Kaha, Māori At Home, and My First Words about Tikanga Māori.
Stacey is currently working across a range of creative and community focussed roles which she has decided to describe as being a ‘kaupapatologist’.
Jed Parsons is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Ōtautahi Christchurch who is known for his heartfelt songwriting, infectious melodies, and sly sense of humour. With two critically acclaimed albums, millions of streams, and a string of high-profile tours and collaborations under his belt, Jed has cemented his place as one of New Zealand’s standout indie singer-songwriters and live performers. Recently, Parsons has toured extensively throughout Australasia headlining his own shows, and joined the likes of Mel Parsons, Troy Kingi and Goodwill in arenas, opera houses and festivals around Aotearoa.
Following the arrivals of his two young children, and the release of his sophomore album Brunch which drew praise from publications and media including Rolling Stone and RNZ, Parsons took a brief detour from the usual - venturing into comedy, children’s music, and more. Jed is making a return however, with the release of his first single in years ‘I Might Go Swimming’ - an ode to new parenthood and the subsequent rekindling with one’s own identity beyond it.
Jed and Stacey will guide us through an incredible evening of performances and award presentations in Ōtautahi next week. We can’t wait for a whole night under their guidance, celebrating the music and culture of Aotearoa.
