APRA AMCOS Aotearoa are thrilled to announce the host of the 2026 APRA Silver Scroll Awards | Kaitito Kaiaka is creative powerhouse, Madeleine Sami. The event will be streamed live from the Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre, Tāmaki Makaurau - thanks to RNZ.

We’re mere days away from the 2026 APRA Silver Scroll Awards | Kaitito Kaiaka and we’re excited to reveal your ceremony host will be Onehunga High School legend turned worldwide creative quadruple threat, Madeleine Sami.

Madeleine started their performing career in typically 'all in' fashion: playing a multitude of different characters on stage every night in extensive tours of Toa Fraser's award-winning plays No. 2 and Bare.

Feature-wise, Madeleine has starred in some of the most successful film comedies Aotearoa has produced, including Sione's Wedding (and its sequel), Eagle Vs. Shark, What We Do In The Shadows, as well as her own feature, The Breaker Upperers, with co-director/writer/star/conspirator Jackie Van Beek. International film credits include John Maclean's Slow West, as well as starring alongside Elijah Wood in deranged comic thriller Come To Daddy.

On smaller screens, Madeleine recently reprised their role as the irrepressible Eddie Redcliffe in Australian black comedy crime series, Deadloch, as well as directing episodes of Pax Assadi's Raised by Refugees, Australian gold rush comedy Gold Diggers, and comedic drama series Madam.

No stranger to hosting duties, Sami has also co-presented three seasons of series The Great Kiwi Bake Off and helmed a domestic version of worldwide reality smash, The Traitors. All this, without mentioning they are also an accomplished musician, playing and releasing music with their siblings, Priya and Anji, as The Sami Sisters.

Madeleine will guide us through an incredible evening of performances and award presentations in Tāmaki this week. We can’t wait for a whole night under their wise-cracking guidance, celebrating the music and culture of Aotearoa - as APRA also celebrates its centenary.

We’re pleased to invite the public to join us live online, thanks to our continued media partnership with RNZ. The event will be streamed live on rnz.co.nz and the RNZ Music YouTube Channel.

With thanks to Te Māngai Pāho and NZ On Air for their support.
