APRA AMCOS Aotearoa are proud to bring you our inaugural songwriting retreat for artists of black diasporic identity, Afro Link SongHubs.
The four day event will take place at Big Fan Studios in Auckland, 6-9 May 2025. We're honoured to announce this inaugural event is curated by celebrated artist and collaborator, JessB. Participants will also create alongside five writer collaborators based in Australia.
"I've met so many amazing artists of African descent across so many different cities," JessB explains, "and I thought that it would be a really cool idea to bring everybody together. I think that collaboration is the most important part of uplifting a scene, and I really want to see more artists getting opportunities."
Available positions include:
- five local positions for APRA members living in Aotearoa;
- one fully funded position for an APRA member living in Aotearoa, outside of the Auckland region.
Fully funded positions include travel, accommodation, and per diems for the four days of the SongHubs workshop.
Applications are open to all APRA Aotearoa members, and close at 5pm Friday 11th April.
