SongHubs is heading to Ōtepoti/Dunedin this April 20th - 23rd, curated by Sam Trevethick. Applications close 28 February!

SongHubs Aotearoa is a series of collaborative song-writing retreats that APRA AMCOS is presenting across Aotearoa New Zealand during 2020 and 2021.

With the generous support and involvement of NZ On Air and the New Zealand Music Commission, we're delighted to be coming to Ōtepoti / Dunedin.

Curator Sam Trevethick aka Sambora has gathered some of Aotearoa's most beloved and unique creators to collaborate with songwriters from the mainland and around the country at Te Korokoro o te Tūī (the voice-box of the Tūī) at the University of Otago - School of Performing Arts.

Sam Trevethick, aka Sambora aka Voices, has forged a distinguished career as a songwriter, producer and multi Instrumentalist, most notably as founding member of legendary electronic music innovators, Shapeshifter.

Sam found a deep love of DJ culture during the Halcyon days of the late 90’s jungle/rave scene in his hometown of Christchurch, New Zealand. This spawned a commitment to the form which has seen him perform as a DJ at clubs, arenas and festival main stages across the globe.

His influences as an artist encompass many threads, starting from his upbringing in a classical music-only home, through his days grinding out metal riffs in shitty bars whilst studying Jazz at music school, to producing generation defining Electronic and Ambient influenced moments in incarnations such as the Drum and Bass informed Shapeshifter.
